Art Curriculum at Holy Innocents
The Christian Heritage Art Program used sequentially at Holy Innocents is based on four premises:
- Young people learn best with elements of art and principles of design taught gradually as the students’ ability increases.
- Knowledge is best retained during periods of creative enjoyment. Lessons begin with interesting people like Picasso, Joan of Arc, Daniel, artistic background, and culminate in a student project.
- Students are encouraged to be innovative and creative as they interact with masterpieces and watch children their own age working on art projects.
- Each level progresses from a prehistoric or primitive lesson, and progresses to Modern Art.
